1930s Vintage HALL "Basket" Teapot 0512P, The Basket is a 6-cup teapot and is considered one of the six Novelty teapots that includes the Doughnut, The Automobile, the Birdcage, the Football and the Basketball teapots manufactured during the 1930s and 40s. The Basket teapot was first introduced in 1936 and is a hard one to find for collectors. This teapot is a beautiful buttery yellow, and the teapot itself is free orders of any chips or cracks. The glaze is smooth and no crazing. The lid has a small chip in the underside which doesn't hinder it's function and is completely hidden when on the teapot. The gold paint is unfortunately worn from use, but as a collector I find it charming. After 86 years of serving tea to generations of loved ones, I would be worn down a little, too.
