My pottery starts as wet clay that I weigh out for similar size. It is then thrown on my potters wheel. If needed handles are added after the pot firms a bit. When it is dry it is fired to about 1800 degrees. This makes it orders easy to handle as I apply glazes the I mix from my formulas. The bottoms are clear of glaze so they do not stick to the kiln shelves Some pots get a bit of decoration with slips of various colors. It is placed in my hand made kiln of 40 cubic feet. It takes about 12 hours in a reduction kiln to reach 2300 degrees. It takes about 24 hours to cool down so they can be removed.
