Orders Red Wing 'Chartreuse Lotus' Pattern Coffee Pot - From 1947 - Tall and Elegant - Ceramic Coffee Pot - George Rumrill Designer
This is a lidded carafe from the George RumRill designed 'Lotus Blossom' pattern in chartreuse. This wonderful Red Wing Pottery coffee pot is from the 1947 through 1950's Lotus Blossom Collection. This coffee pot orders, in a bright chartreuse color with an off-white interior and lid. The lid's handle has a black stripe. It is unmarked but is from the Lotus Blossom collection and has very stylish mid century design lines. The coffee pot has a nice foot and measures 11¾" to the top of the pour spout. The coffee pot is unused and is in very good condition with a small chip on the foot - see photos - and two small chips on the lid - see photos. It is a superb piece to add to your Red Wing Lotus Blossom collection or just to show off as a unique mid-century design. The last photo shows it displayed with the creamer and sugar bowl.
"George RumRill, who was a designer but not a potter, is credited with introducing new dinnerware and art pottery designs and glazes to Red Wing in the '30s. He designed much of the company's art pottery of the time, and came up with several useful glazes." collectorsweekly.com
