Who can resist lively monkeys swinging orders from trees in a tropical rain forest.....especially when depicted in bright primary colours. This quilt would make a welcome addition to any baby boy or girl nursery.

This quilt was designed around a bright large striped rain forest fabric in greens, reds, blues, oranges and yellows. The monkeys are joined by colourful birds, snakes, crocodiles and frogs. I surrounded each of three print stripes with bands of red and pulled out all of the bright colours in the print with a collection of 2 by 2 inch squares.

The back of the quilt is a green leaf print with playful monkeys throughout.
A coordinating green fabric was used to bind the quilt. The double fold binding was machine sewn to the front of the quilt and hand sewn to the back for a clean, finished look.

The quilt was quilted in a free motion swirl pattern in the print stripes and along the seam lines in the red stripe and 2 inch blocks section. The batting is 100% cotton.

The quilt measures a generous 39 by 53.5 inches, making it the perfect size for a crib, toddler bed or playtime on the floor.

The fabric used in the quilt is 100% cotton and has been prewashed prior to construction to reduce future shrinkage and ensure the quilt is ready to be used without prewashing. It's been quilted with a 100% cotton batting. It can be cold-water machine washed on gentle and either machine dried on gentle or hung to dry. Washing will shrink the batting ever so slightly, creating the desired look of antique puckering.

The quilts are all made with only quilt-quality cottons, battings and threads to ensure that your quilt will last for many years to come. Each quilt is a one-of-a-kind; while a particular fabric may be used for more than one quilt, it will be used in a different way or pattern to ensure that each quilt is unique.
