Orders Abstract Nature Scene Suncatcher, Stained Glass Window Art, NYC Recycled Reclaimed Glass Trees
A lovely, one-of-a-kind abstract nature scene from NYC!
The recycled glass in this stained glass suncatcher comes from a large New York City recycling plant that was converted to a park in the 1930's. When it burst in the 1950's, the contents scattered on the beach. Now, as the waves come ashore, there is a lovely faint tinkling of all the colored glass in the water, and Glass Bottle Beach has become a place of adventure.
Glass is a unique material that never loses its color and doesn't change shape. Some say it feels a person's mood! I love working with glass, and happily pour my love into each masterpiece. I have not altered these pieces of reclaimed vintage glass to make this nature-inspired scene. orders Each piece was collected by myself and my family.
2 brown pieces originate from old Clorox bottles, as shown by the photos, and a third piece reads “Duraglas,” a well-known bottle-making company from the early 1940's.
Tree scene measures 7” long by 5.5” tall, and comes with transparent cord for easy hanging.
Handmade in Brooklyn.
