Product code: Abraham Lincoln by Ingri and Edgar Parin D orders ' Aulaire First Edition 1939 Erratum Included with Dust Jacket Hard Back Book

The illustrations done by the authors Ingri & Edgar Parin D'Aulaire are incredible. They are stone lithographs. This is a copy of the book Abraham Lincoln. It is "Copyright, 1939, Doubleday, Doran & Company, Incorporated - First Edition". This is not quite the first printing. It does have the erratum that states "Erratum - Fourth line should read as follows: So on New Year's Day in 1863 (not 1861 as it was published) Lincoln solemnly ...". This can be seen in picture #8. It is very hard to find this book with the erratum still intact. This book has 52 pages that are not numbered. The dust jacket is present and can be seen in pictures #1-4. There are two color pages together and then 2 black and white pages as you can see in pictures #6 and 7. Picture #5 shows the book's front cover, and #10 shows the back. This book is 12-1/4" tall x 8-7/8" orders wide x 1/2" thick. This is a hard back book.

Needless to say, the dust jacket has some problems. It has been taped - years ago judging by the tape. The dust jacket is sturdy. There are nicks and dings to the edges of the book. The right bottom corner is rough. There is staining on the top and bottom of the cover. And the pages have yellowed some. A couple of places have marks - dirty fingerprints. I can send a picture of one of these. Please let me know if you would like to see more pictures.

Believe it or not, the price reflects the condition of this book. It is a lot more expensive when in nice condition. I do believe this is the hardest issue of this book to find with the erratum.
