This is a mug with an auspicious blue mesh pattern by Kiyomizu-yaki potter Kato Hozan.
Kyoto ware is formed one by one using a potter's wheel and painted by a craftsman with a brush.

The design is simple and crisp.
In Kyoto, the mesh pattern is said to be good luck and a spell for longevity.

You can scoop happiness with the mesh.
Be sure to keep the net tied in a knot.
The picture of the net should be drawn inside and outside, and there should be no holes.
The netting, especially the red netting, represents blood vessels, and is a spell for the middle wind.
Even in foreign countries, the inner center should look like an oasis.
The nets were used as emblems of warlords because they were used to catch all the warriors at once and win the war.

These are all transcriptions of the omen of the nets that I have heard.

This is the inside of the vessel. The netting is connected to the bottom without a single hole.

In particular, the nets from this kiln are painted not only on the bottom of the vessel, but also on the back of the lid and inside the base.
In particular, it takes a lot of care to paint the inside of the bowl with a brush to make sure that the lines are consistent and that no one else can do it.

The handle has an angular projection that fits the thumb and is easy for the elderly to hold.

One of the reasons why Kiyomizu ware has a mesh pattern is because it is said that using a mesh prevents the formation of a middle wind.
We hope you will use our mesh mugs to celebrate your parents or elderly people.
