Rare Uruguay Medal for the Battle of orders Yatay, Paraguayan War of 1865-1870

1865 Uruguayan Medal of Yatay ( Jatai ) awarded to soldiers who fought in the Battle of Yatay during the Paraguayan War of 1865-1870. Also referred to as the War of the Triple Alliance and the Great War in Paraguay. Involving Paraguay fighting the Empire of Brazil, Argentina and Uruguay, this was the largest war in South American history with an estimated loss of 400,000 lives. In very good condition, handsome patina and original ribbon orders. With it's ribbon measures 3 3/8" long, about 1 1/8" wide and roughly 1/8" thick.
