Pair of Fantastic 1940's Mountain Lion Prints in Oak Frames - One by famed American Wildlife Artist F.L. Jacques (1887-1969)

America's Biggest Cat- The Mountain Lion or Cougar is depicted here in two settings. Jaques' depiction shows the regal animal lounging in a Southwest setting.
The second artist is as yet unidentified. He shows orders the great hunter tangled in the antlers of a White tail Deer. A second clue as to the age of the pieces was revealed when I took off the backing for cleaning. The White tail deer print is out of a sporting magazine. On the back is an article about Baseball Hall of Fame Pitcher Hal Newhouser- when he played for the Tigers. (1939-53)

Heavy duty Oak deep cove frames.

16.5 x 13.5 inches

**PRICE IS FOR BOTH PIECES**

In 1924, Francis Lee Jaques sent some of his paintings to the American Museum of Natural History in New York City. His talent was recognized and he was invited to join the museum's team as a background painter. The team traveled around the world gathering exhibit specimens. Jaques recorded his experiences throughout.
