Product code: Vintage Marimekko boxy shirt/blouse, gray & black "Ananas" design orders (Maija Isola, 1962), size M, Mika Piirainen, 1990s, 3/4 sleeves, VG cond.

A vintage (1990s) Marimekko women's shirt/blouse designed by Mika Piirainen, with square hem, 3/4 sleeves with notched cuffs that can worn as-is or turned up, and and one patch breast pocket. The fabric design is a variation orders on Maija Isola's 1962 fabric design "Ananas" (pineapple), in rich black and gray. (Isola's design was, in turn, inspired by a 17th or 18th-century silk design - abstracted to a high-contrast, two-color pattern, it really "pops.")

I purchased this shirt new, and loved it and wore it for many years, but it is now just a hair too small, alas! It looks great worn open like a jacket, over a tank top or t-shirt. The colors and pattern are very flattering, and go with everything.

Size: M
NOTE: This may not be the same size as older or newer Marimekko "M"s - check the measurements below, and compare to a similar garment that fits you.

Measurements (measured flat):
chest (armpit to armpit): 19.5"
across hem: 20"
center back length (from bottom of collar): 23"
across back, shoulder seam to shoulder seam: 16.5"
neck: about 15"
sleeve length from center back: 25" (not turned up)

For reference, my dress form measures 34" bust, 25" waist, 37" hip

Condition: This shirt is in excellent condition, very lightly used, no signs of wear or damage, has recently been washed and line-dried.

The only issue to note is that the care label in the side seam is frayed and illegible (blank, actually!). I always wash my Marimekko shirts in warm water (the company advises hot water), and hang them on plastic hangers to dry.
