Victorian Jacket Size M-L Antique 1800s Victorian Jacket Bodice Stunning orders Black Taffeta with Soutache Braid

This stunning, antique Victorian jacket bodice is made of black taffeta, lined with cream silk. This is classic in both lines & design. The neckline is a simple V trimmed around with elaborate soutache braid that orders is duplicated in bands down the front & back and around the arms, with extensions over the shoulders. This buttons with 3 braid-covered buttons down the front. The bodice is cut in at the waist, to flare out a little over the hips, The sleeves are straight with wide, turned-back cuffs & 2 matching braid-covered buttons. There is a slit in the back hem for movement. Please see the photos to note these: The top button's braid cover is hanging off & needs gluing. There is wear evident around on the edges of the cuffs & the cream of the inner lining shows through in small places. The inner, unseen, lining is shattering in places, particularly along the hem, & the threads are showing at the bottom in the back. The back of the left sleeve is split in places down the center and needs repair. This is a heavy, extremely well-made piece that presents stunningly. Please note that the skirt is sold separately.
