Gorgeous antique French Victorian boned jacket with floral handmade needle lace and hand embroidery with puff sleeves
Mid to late 1800s
When laid flat the measurements are: 20 inches high (50cm), 18 inches wide in the waist when flat and closed (45cm), 18 inches wide from armpit to armpit when closed and flat (45cm), the sleeves are 16 inches long (40cm)
In a very good condition as shown on the pictures: 2 missing hooks on top, this does not detract from the beauty of this rare piece of vestment
The handmade black jacket is boned and lined in black
In the lining there is a stamp of the clothmaker "Mademoiselle Raynaud" in Carcassonne (south of France)
The jacket has pretty puffed sleeves, which give a great look to this jacket
The front of the jacket and the collar have floral handmade needle lace, very pretty
The jacket is all hand embroidered with floral details, just gorgeous
Look at all the fine details and imagine the hours and hours of work on this fabulous jacket
A very ornate and highly detailed jacket
The chemise closes with metal hooks and strings in the waist
Much prettier in reality than on the pictures, believe me!
The lace jacket can still be worn and it also looks great as a display on a dressform mannequin
