This abstract art resin journal looks like clear glass with transparent blue shapes floating throughout, and pink-purple cardstock behind the covers that can be seen through. Because the blue shapes orders are also transparent, those areas look purple overlayed on the pink paper, and are blue when the book is open and separated from the pink paper. When I made these covers, I was inspired by the fluid shapes of a lava lamp. The book is hand-bound using a Coptic stitch, which means it can lay flat and stay open without harming the binding.
This journal would make a beautiful gift for any occasion, or a memory book or guest book to commemorate a special time. Handmade with love and care out of resin, waxed cotton thread, purple-pink cardstock, and blank 50# white drawing paper. A matching bookmark is also available.
Approximately 8.5” x 6.”, includes 96 sheets, 192 pages.
There are small bubbles and imperfections due to the resin curing process, but these add character and individuality to the piece.
