(2 crystals are missing.) Small gold medallion is sewn into the silk, inscribed “MADE IN AUSTRIA.” Inside is an exquisite tight weave satin lining, wonderfully sewn together by precision sewing machines of the day, but showing slight imperfections that account for this not being machine tooled like a modern manufacture. There are no stains at all or even age marks on this silk. This Flapper accessory (for racy, nightlife people of Weimar Germany and Austria {Berlin and Vienna}, extreme Modern flamboyant entertainment) was brought to America as a keepsake by wealthy Jewish refugees who managed to escape to America in the early 1930's. This was preserved as a time capsule memory of pre-War happiness.
