An ironing board top stands out in a crowd (no pun intended) because it stands HIGH or for your any number of uses (some of our uses suggested below) as a work table or to stand in a display or behind a sofa or chairs. We have many of these old ironing boards--some with their fold-up legs, some without--which we've used in most or all rooms - sometimes to iron, at other times as a courtesy to each house guest for luggage or to iron, or to lay out an outfit...and we have had old wooden ironing boards in other rooms as an added work surface in my office or a display surface OR just to stand tall against a wall or up against the side of a cabinet or cupboard, i.e., to just stand there looking plain ol' cool as a genuine touch of yesteryear...with or without the old cover or with a new cover

Love these old WOOD ironing board tops in all sizes and shapes for many uses:
- to iron, of course, and this one is a high ironing height so it's perfect for ironing by a taller ironer while encouraging standing with perfect posture
- to build a bookcase along a wall
- to provide an added surface for reference books, papers, folders, and the like while working in home office
- to provide a narrow "lifter" in small narrow spaces, such as in a bathroom, foyer or hallway, or behind a bench or sofa or chair OR merely as a visual "lifter" to guide the eye upward in a wall decor...say, you've hung some framed pieces and want a balancing visual; on that wall...an old standing wooden ironing board top provides that perfect visual
