SYRIA, Seleukid Kings. Antiochos VII. 138-129 BC. Bronze.

Obverse: Head of a lion to right.

Reverse: ΒΑΣΙΛΕΩΣ ANTIOXOY - ΕΥΕΡΓΕΤΟΥ. Club; to outer left, monogram.

O: Lion's head right. R: Club. ANTIOCHOS VII. SIDETES, 139-129 B.C.

Small bronze (14 mm). Antiochia.
Head of lion r. with open jaws. Rv. BAΣIΛEΩΣ ANTIOXOΥ Club; below, EΥEΡΓETOΥ und Monogram (unclear). 4.1 g.

Antiochus VII Euergetes, nicknamed Sidetes, also known as Antiochus the Pious, was ruler of the Hellenistic Seleucid Empire who reigned from July/August 138 to 129 BC. He was the last Seleucid king of any stature. After Antiochus was killed in battle, the Seleucid realm was restricted to Syria.

Authenticity Guaranteed.

Condition: Preservation VF, nice original uniform brown patina, no stains or scratches. Please check photos for your own grading.

As a coin collector I DO NOT clean any of my coins to preserve the original patina, if you wish to clean the coin/s I will leave it up to you.
