Vintage 1940s 1950s Chinese Robe • Rockabilly Pin Up • I Love Lucy • Cheongsam Bed Jacket Coat • Yellow + Oversized Black Frog orders Closure •

The ultimate in "I Love Lucy" wear, this adorable bed jacket is from the 1940s or 50s and just the thing to pad around your rockabilly boudoir! Made of quilted synthetic (rayon?) the color is orders a sweet, "buttercup" yellow, with a solid black lining, and black, oversized frog closures. So easy to open and close, (unlike the tiny ones from later eras.) "Swing coat" stying, it's got lightly padded shoulders and 3/4 length subtly belled sleeves with nice cuffs with cute shaping. Two oversized front pockets mimic the "petal" shaping like on the cuffs. Mandarin collar of course. 5" side slits. Very good vintage condition on the outside but there is (sadly, typical) damage to the armpits, which have been lightly mended, as shown in my last photo. I recommend stitching in black lightweight dress shields to bring this one totally up to snuff. This really is a darling piece, and would look simply swellegant with some black capri pants and black rabbit fur, high heel mule slippers!
Size is what I'm calling a medium as although the measurements make it look larger, it's meant to be worn loose.

Shoulders: about 15-1/2" with top pleats in front at the shoulders, for shape and volume
Length: about 26"
Sleeve length: a tad over 21"
Width at bottom: about 47"
