Mintage of only 30,000 sold out at the US Mint within a few hours! We were lucky to get our 3 from the mint, and we purchased several FDOI PCGS-graded sets (PR69DCAM and PR70DCAM) with the original mint packaging!

The US Mint Congratulations Set has been an annual favorite for collectors since its first release in 2013. Of the 746,760 2022-W Proof American Silver Eagles, only 30,000 were set aside for the Congratulations Set. Retail purchases on the usmint.gov website were limited to 3 sets per household, and it didn't take long for all 30K to sell out. The real value as a collectible is the packaging. The 2022-W Proof Silver Eagle is encapsulated and attached to a presentation folder. Both sides of the coin are viewable with the folder which also offers space orders for writing a personalized message. An outer sleeve protects the contents. The Certificate of Authenticity is printed on the reverse of the presentation folder.

This set is the first of its lineage to include the updated Silver Eagle designs with enhanced obverse (heads side) and new reverse (tails side) imagery. These updates debuted in 2021, however, last year's Congratulations Set still contained the original Type 1 Silver Eagle designs.

For the coin's obverse, the U.S. Mint enhanced the classic Walking Liberty design by Adolph A. Weinman using historical assets to reflect the artist's original intent more closely. On the design is Liberty in full stride, enveloped in folds of the flag, with her right hand extended and branches of laurel and oak in her left. Inscriptions are "LIBERTY," "2022," and "IN GOD WE TRUST."

You don't need a special occasion to own this special set, but I'll bet you know someone who has a special event in 2022 who would love to have this set as a memento!
