EAGLES SYMBOLIZE: POWER, INTELLIGENCE, VISION

The Eagle story is one of the most popular legends in Native art and mythology. In many regions, Eagle clan families are traditionally very prominent and Eagle Chiefs are the most powerful. Eagle is used to represent perception and spiritual connection. Eagle feathers and down are sacred: Traditionally, shamans believed in their healing powers and used them in ceremonial contexts, such as honoring a respected guest. The down symbolizes good luck, peace, welcome, and friendship.

Grant Pauls is a Tahltan Nation artist well known for his intricate cut-out silver and gold jewellery. He studied with renowned carver, Terrence Campbell from Prince Rupert, BC. Grant uses a combination of different jewellery making techniques to produce his Tahltan pieces with a modern flare. In addition to orders creating his stunning art and jewellery, Grant works with Indigenous Bands throughout the Yukon Territory in the field of mediation and negotiation. Grant currently lives and works from Vancouver, British Columbia.
