An extremely scarce vintage flask produced by Schafer & Vater, circa 1920s or so. This flask is made of porcelain and is marked "Made in Germany" on the bottom.
This model flask is referred to as a "Cannon" style by Schafer & Vater. The flask features the raised image of a comical bowler on the front. The background of the flask is designed to resemble woodgrain and is done so in a very detailed and orders realistic fashion.
The flask measures 5" in height and approximately 2.25" in width. Overall, it is still in good condition for its age. There is one hairline crack (just under 1" in length) running along the top of the flask's spout (see last photo). Also, the flask is missing its small porcelain stopper & what I presume to be the original cork has become lodged within the neck of the flask. Other than the one aforementioned hairline crack - it is in good condition free of any chips or other damage. There is a small spot of paint wear to the bowler's cheek.
A very rare piece of pottery by the Schafer & Vater company. A fun display piece and welcome addition to any "nipper" flask collection.
