Gorgeous hand crocheted lace chimney breast hanging, with tassels. These decorative crocheted pieces were once commonly seen in rural homes, generally having been made by the women of the household. From mid century France, this is lovely vintage item which could be used for its original purpose, or on a side board, as a wall decoration, over a large window, a bed headboard- let your imagination run riot! It is in very good, vintage condition, with a little discoloration along the top edge, which may wash out. There are some tiny, occasional rust spots on the back, at the top edge, as though it has had drawing pins in it at intervals.
