French vintage monestary bell - an original item cast in brass with a chain pull and featuring winged griffons/chimera.

The bell is worn and weathered. It has decorative panels with writing above - some are clearer than others - I can just make out the word Angel but the others are blurred.

The bell swings from an ornate wall bracket that has a period character writing with a feather at the centre and a winged gothic creature at the front. A cross bar holds the bell chain at one end and a small griffon/chimera balancing the weight at the other.

The wall bracket is strong and decorative with two fixing holes.

Condition is authentic and used. the patina has dulled over the years. Apart from a light brush and wipe I've left this wonderful item as found.

Maximum height of the bell and frame is approx. 16" (40.5cm).
Maximum length with chain is approx 21" (54cm).
The depth from the wall when fitted is approx. 6" (15.5cm).
Height of orders the bell is approx. 5.5" (14cm).
The diameter of the bell is approx. 3.5" (9cm).
Weight is approx. 3lbs 8ozs (1.6kg).
