Bird necklace, orders hand beaded necklace, sari silk necklace, feather necklace, anniversary gift, gift for wife, gift for mom, gift for daughter
Lately, I seem to be gravitating to so many different components and beads that feature birds. And why not? After all, not only are they just amazing, diverse, and beautiful creatures, birds also can represent so many things to us (Flight, hope, beauty, etc, etc) that can give us a moment to stop and think.
This hand beaded necklace is one of my latest pieces to figuratively use birds. Lovely bright blue and cloudy white Czech glass might suggest the skies that some birds fly through, while beautiful Baroque purple bicone beads add a bit of mystery. Gold plated bead caps in two different styles are used throughout the piece to add some extra dimension. But the real stars of this piece are the charming patinaed vintage bird spacers (unknown metal, sorry!) that are flying through the blue beads. And finally, a sophisticated bronze feather with a twist of contrasting red sari orders silk pulls the whole piece together.
At a length of 18 inches, this boho styled necklace utilizes sterling silver findings, including the crimp beads, wire guards, and the decorative s-hook clasp.
