The material cork is extracted from the bark of the cork oak. For the cork production, not a single tree has to be cut down, the cork oak is only peeled. The peeling of cork trees has no negative effect on the natural development of cork oak. A cork tree is peeled for the first time at the age of 25. The bark then naturally orders grows back and is peeled only every 9 years, up to 17 times in total.

We chose Korktextil as a vegan leather alternative. Korktextil feels velvety soft. The textile is haptically comparable to supple suede. Due to the natural grain of the cork bark, each model is unique. Korktextil is also robust, water-repellent, odourless, anti-allergic and easy to care for. It can be cleaned with a clean cloth with some soft soap and water. Here, easy wiping of the fabric is sufficient. In case of coarser dirt, the cork of our vegan bags and wallets can also be gently washed by hand wash.
