This older, beautifully hand painted thangka shows the life of Buddha. It depicts the twelve important moments from which Siddhartha becomes Shakyamuni and his Buddhist teachings. Shakymuni Buddha is shown at the center of thangka. The twelve events are:
1. Queen Maya"s dream (upper left, see thumbnail #5). 7. Mara's attack
2. Birth of Siddhartha 8. Asceticism
3. Raising the young prince 9. Enlightenment
4. Life in the court 10. Proclaiming the teachings
5. The four encounters 11. Extraordinary events
6. Siddhartha secretly leaves the palace 12. Parinirvana (lower right, see thumbnail
This is an older thangka, which has been previously used and hung using pins, so there are tiny holes in the corners. This thangka orders is not "perfect" or new, and so is being offered at a great price point.
All profit will be sent back to Nepal to help those in need due to Covid. They have had lockdown and/or restrictions since April 29, 2021 due to the second wave, now are in their 3rd wave, and so are still suffering greatly from no tourism and lack of income.
