This English Oxford sheep figure is part of the Colin's Creatures collection of fine porcelain woolly animals. The artist, J. Colin Richmond makes them in his Asheville, NC studio and uses a unique combination of materials to create lifelike figures which feels as good as it looks and is sure to make you smile.

The Oxford comes from Oxford County, England and comes from cross breeding Cotswolds with Hampshires in the 1830s and 1840s. They came to the US in the 1840s. The head and legs are porcelain and the fur orders a woven wool. The body is a cast stone (1lb) Ht approx 4 "
