Antique French 1800s religious fabric for banner hood IHS embroidered vestment orders cape panel gold lamé metallic thread embroidery church decor

This is a very rare antique French religious panel for a priest vestment cope or processional banner with hand embroidered details in gold thread with the letters IHS and grapes
Late 1800s, early 1900s

Sizes : 25.6 inches high at the highest (64cm) and 22 inches wide (55cm)

This antique panel is in a wonderful good condition, as shown on the pictures, just some slight yellowing, nothing serious, it does not detract from the beauty of this fabulous piece of religious art

The linen panel is in a buttermilk tone, hand embroidered with gold metallic thread, red thread, gold lamé applications in a lovely design

You can see the letters IHS in the middle medallion surrounded by grapes with leaves and scrolls

This panel was once part of a religious vestment, it can make a pretty banner as well
