Product code: Vintage 1920s Blue Raffia Cloche Hat with Beaded Rose, Floral Art Deco Flapper Chapeau, Spring Summer Wedding Garden Party orders Film Theatre Prop

• Adorable 1920s blue raffia cloche hat with velvet ribbon detailing and beaded rose applique.
• Straw and wire frame construction, lined in cream and blue silks.
• Full measurements below.
• Good condition. Still wearable as is -- with care, and looks wonderful. But there are areas of wear that could do with repair or replacing. See condition report for full detailing below. Priced gently.
• Provenance: France

This sweet and cheerful 1920s sky-blue raffia cloche would make the perfect finishing touch to a spring or summer outfit! I love the beaded rose detail, and the boldness of the ribbon stripes as trim. There are areas of wear and some primitive mends, but this hat is still wonderfully wearable -- however, it would benefit from a little TLC just to ensure its longevity. It has been priced with these repairs in mind.

*Please note: the vintage mannequin head is for display only, and NOT included in the sale!*

MEASUREMENTS:
• Inner circumference of hat: approx. 21-22" (it's a soft, irregular shape and hard to be entirely accurate)
• Hat height: approx. 8" (soft top)
• Total diameter of hat (edge to edge at widest point): 7.5"
*** As a helpful comparison: I have approx. a 22" circumference head, and this hat fits me comfortably. The mannequin head is also around 22" ***

MEASURING YOUR HEAD SIZE
1. Use a soft tape measure
2. Place it around your head, positioned mid-forehead and just above the ears.
3. Measure in centimetres (or inches) and compare to my measurements above.

**Please check all measurements carefully; ideally against a similarly-sized and style of hat which you own that fits you well. Vintage and handmade accessories can NOT be precisely represented in today's modern sizing and will ultimately have quirks and irregularities, as well as possibly sitting differently on your head to what you are used to, due to the fashion at the time.**

CONDITION:
• Good, wearable condition with care. Still presents beautifully.
• Wear to the ribbon trim and 'stripes'. The stripes used to be velvet, which has mostly worn away. It looks fine as it is, but it would be easy to remove them and replace with new velvet ribbon!
• The beaded flower detail has lost some beads and has had some re-stitching work. Not especially noticeable except under close scrutiny.
• Some of the lining (notably the blue) is shattering and has had repairs. Ideally needs replacing or reinforcing if the hat is to be worn often, but still plenty of life left for the occasional/special event use!
• Some glue residue to the raffia.
• Light mis-shaping and puckering due to age and the wire frame.

*** International buyers: The postage price reflects the time, care, and extra materials needed to package this delicate piece appropriately and safely for its long trip overseas. Thanks for understanding! ***

Antique and vintage items have been previously worn, used, and loved. Sometimes there will be blemishes, tarnishing, or signs of gentle wear and tear. At Wassail Antiques, we aim to note as many details of each item orders as possible, and apologise if the occasional oversight occurs. We take a restrained approach to the items we sell, and only carry out repairs if absolutely necessary - therefore items are sold 'as is'. Due to age/fragility, clothing and textiles are not always laundered unless stated so in the main description. I do all I can to minimise any odour (which is often due to extended storage, age, use and discolouration, or a combination of these), but please expect there may be some vintage scent still lingering. We cannot predict how a vintage item will wear and cannot be held responsible if the item becomes damaged after it has been received by the buyer. This applies especially to antique items, which are often much more delicate. Please check all aspects of the listing carefully, to ensure the item is suitable before you commit to purchasing.
