First printing with stated First Published in 1979 by Viking Press and no other dates on copyright page. The book is tight with solid hinges and binding, good tips, and charcoal boards. King's initials are stamped on the front board. Faint foxing to top fore-edges. The textblock has gutter separation between the front endpaper and the half-title page but the page is tight. Pen mark on the upper half-title page, else clean with no writing, bookplate, or markings and not BCE, ex-library, or remaindered. Pages are lightly tanned. The dust jacket is unclipped ($11.95) with light rubbing, a half-inch closed tear to the top back flap corner, and wear to the spine head (see photos). Protected in a new Brodart Mylar cover. 426 pages. 6¼ x 9½" tall. After four and a half years in a coma, Johnny Smith awakens orders with a knowledge of the death zone and an ability to see the future.
