Oil painting on board depicting a turn-of-the century (around 1900) boardwalk scene, likely on the US East Coast. The figures strolling down the boardwalk certainly appear to be dressed in Victorian-esque fashion, with top hats, canes and parasols. TThe most interesting feature to me is the pink explosion at top center. I believe this is intended to depict a firework explosion, but it could simply be the sun. Unsigned and undated, framed in a handsome white wood frame. The painting is in excellent condition. orders No noticeable wear. Frame is in very good condition with some scuffing consistent with age. Painting measures 20 inches high x 16 inches wide. Frame measures approximately 22.75 inches high x 18.75 inches wide.
