Antique Victorian Rust Brown Velvet Trinket Box - Sewing Box - Jewelry Box | orders Gilt Brass Findings | Needs Just a Touch of TLC

Dating to the late 1890s or so, may I offer the antique velvet trinket box - sewing box - jewelry box. For its age, the box is in very nice condition with age wear on the top 4 corners. The bottom paper is pretty much complete - the same with the inside dark peach linen fabric HOWEVER the top flap of fabric (as shown) needs to be glued down to the base as it has pulled out from the pleated orders inside of the top. The only other faux pas is that it appears one of the original pins slipped out from its hinge - it has not been replace with a pin; the other hinge has its original pin but it too broke away (possible bad fall) and has been reinserted the wrong way. The box works just fine as it is but so that no mishap occurs during packaging, I will remove the straight pin before mailing. oh, and the velvet is still soft and supple, it has not dried out so there is no disintegration when touched. Gilt Brass findings. Size of the box is 6" x 5" with a depth of 2-3/4". It's hard to find vintage velvet boxes in good shape these days - this is a nice find, I think. Priced accordingly.
