Red Dinosour Bone Pendant orders OOAK

I was fortunate on my Tucson Gem and Mineral show adventure in 2015 to come across several pieces of Red Dinosaur bone. The color is caused by the minerals in the soil and rock where the bones were buried in northern Mexico. This piece of Dino Bone has been very simply set in Argentium Silver wire allowing most of the stone showing, front and back.

The setting process is Traditional Wire Wrapping using wire and the weaving of that wire to hold the stone or in this case the Bone. This technique is seven thousand years old and was the first example of cold finish. I first saw this technique in the Pforzheim Jewelry Museum in Germany. On the second floor is a orders room that is totally black with clear boxes pin pointed with spot lite full of beautiful pieces with stunning stones and designs. Back in the corner was one of these boxes about 4x4 inches. In the box was a silver wire ring wrapped with silver wire. When I read the tag it said "First Century Roman". Wow, I thought I can do that, so I am.
