I turned this maple plate on the lathe in my shop. The maple is from the local sawmill near my cabin in Vermont. After turning and fine sanding the piece I used a pyrography pen to outline the design of the crow. The pen has a tip hot enough to etch a fine line into the wood. This forms a distinct line to the design and allows the acrylic paint to either conform to the orders line or partially cover the line, depending on which makes sense for the design. I then finish the piece with several coats of varnish to seal and protect the wood and paint.
The plate is 10 inches in diameter and 1 inch high.
The plate can be used for anything dry such as wrapped candy but works best as a display piece. Therefore, a black wood display stand is included.
If you are not pleased with the piece I will cheerfully refund all expenses.
