Custom Copalero Goblet with Turquoise for Burning Bowl Rituals and Shamanic Ceremony Mica Clay orders from New Mexico
I have one 8 inch diameter copalera fired goblet ready for inlay.
Hold this wheel-thrown mica clay copalera by the taller goblet base as you burn copal or sage or other smudge herbs and incense. Use your copalero for a burning bowl and smudging rituals. Micaceous clay from New Mexico is exceptionally suited for burning bowls because it is highly heat tolerant. The chalice base raises the bowl from your table surface for safety. The sturdy handle allows for smudging and room clearing ease. Choose between a 6” wide bowl and an 8” wide bowl, at checkout.
This holy clay is from New Mexico, the Land of Enchantment. I throw and trim my mica pots on my potter's wheel. After the pots are fully dry and burnished with a smooth stone, I fire them in my kiln. A second firing it in a wood pit fire creates the smokey “fire clouds” on the exterior. Each fire cloud is unpredictable, a true gift of the fire. Traditional folklore says that this is the kiss of Spirit. This results in a combination of tawny orangewith grey and black smoke patterns.
Copal is the sacred medicine from Meso-America. It is a resin which comes from the copal tree and it can be thousands of years old. Copal is most often used to purify spaces, homes, altars and especially ceremonies during El Dias de Los Muertos. Copal is said to be a favorite fragrance of the ancestors, our loved ones who have crossed over. It draws them near because they like the taste & smell of copal.
Burn sage, cedar and sweet grass for clearing negative energy and creating a circle of protection. Burn joss money for abundance. Release all that no longer serves you and call in the new. Place your copalero on your Day of the Dead offenda with the favorite foods of your ancestors.
I make offerings and prayers with blue corn at every stage of the process of creating a vessel. orders Each vessel I've made seems to require from 8 - 10 hours of loving hands-on care, from clay to fired pot. It is signed with my potter's name Patch and Taos, NM.
Size: approximately 6" diameter, 8” tall.
Or, larger: 8” diameter, 10” tall. (One in stock ready for turquoise inlay and shipment in a few days after inlay.)
My clay supplier is experiencing delays in producing this luminous micaceous clay. Please allow 3-4 weeks to make, dry, burnish and fire twice, then time for inlaying the stones.
