Vintage mid century Petroliana ceramic pottery cigarette ashtray. Made by Salem for The Pure Oil Company. Features the red firebird in the center and the oil company name. Makers mark on the back with ovenproof and 24kt gold. The gold detailing on the front shows a lot of fading and wear (see photos). No chips, cracks or crazing. It does have a yellowing discoloration in the center around the bird orders (see photos). Sold as is. Heavier ashtray. Measures approximately just over 7 inches across and square shape. Great advertising collectible!
